Origin Acoustics Now Builds Soundbars to Order, Here's What That Means for UAE Home Theater Projects

No More Off-the-Shelf Soundbars for Luxury Installs
Origin Acoustics has rolled out a Built-to-Order Soundbar program, letting custom integrators specify soundbars to the exact dimensions and requirements of a residential project rather than fitting a room around a fixed-size box. Dealers can now configure custom lengths, channel layouts, IR spacing and mounting options, with the soundbars manufactured at Origin's Las Vegas facility for both indoor and outdoor installations.
Origin Acoustics CEO Nick Berry framed the move around a simple observation about how luxury clients now think about home technology: "Luxury clients expect technology to be as intentional as every other design decision in the home." That's a direct response to a real problem in high-end installs, where oversized displays, custom millwork and architecturally integrated cabinetry rarely line up with the handful of fixed lengths a standard soundbar catalog offers.
Two Sound Engines, One Custom Chassis
What makes the program more than just a sizing exercise is the technology choice built into it. Each built-to-order soundbar can be specified with either Origin's Ambisonic ribbon-tweeter technology or its DPSD engine, so dealers pick the performance profile that fits the room rather than compromising on both the acoustics and the fit. That flexibility matters most in the projects Origin's built-to-order program is aimed at: rooms where the display is unusually wide, mounted in an alcove, or paired with cabinetry that a stock soundbar simply can't tuck under cleanly.
What It Means for Home Theater and Whole-Home Audio Projects in the UAE
Villa and apartment projects in the UAE increasingly lean toward oversized displays and bespoke media walls, exactly the kind of layout where a fixed-length soundbar looks like an afterthought. A built-to-order option gives integrators here a way to spec audio that matches a custom screen width or a recessed media wall without falling back on a mismatched, off-the-shelf bar or hiding the compromise behind a slipcover.
It also reinforces the design-first approach that runs through the rest of Origin's catalog. Florence Trading already stocks Origin's BLENDS invisible in-wall speakers, built to disappear into a finished wall or ceiling, alongside the DSP and PROA amplifier ranges that power distributed and home theater audio behind the scenes. The soundbar program extends that same philosophy, hide the electronics, keep the room's design intact, to the one component that usually can't be hidden: the bar sitting under the screen.
If you're speccing a home theater or media wall project and want the room's proportions to drive the audio rather than the other way around, it's worth raising Origin's built-to-order program with your integrator alongside the rest of the Origin lineup.
