Logitech Got a $61M Tariff Refund and Kept It, Here's What It Means for UAE Shoppers

A proposed class-action lawsuit filed against Logitech this week has put a number on something a lot of buyers suspected: the company raised prices over tariffs, the tariffs were later struck down and refunded, and the prices never came back down. According to reporting from Tom's Hardware and The Register on 24 August 2026, the suit accuses Logitech of pocketing a $61 million tariff refund instead of returning any of it to the customers who paid the inflated prices in the first place.
What the lawsuit claims
The case centers on the "Liberation Day" tariffs imposed by the Trump administration in 2025, which the US Supreme Court later ruled illegal. Logitech received a full refund of the duties it had paid, $61 million as of 30 June 2026, but the complaint alleges none of that money has been passed on to shoppers who covered the cost through higher retail prices. The lawsuit puts the total extracted from consumers in fiscal year 2026 alone at $73 million to $97 million.
How the price hikes played out
Back in April 2025, the same month the tariffs were announced, Logitech raised prices on more than half of its product line by as much as 25%. At the time, the increases were framed as a straightforward pass-through of new import costs. More than a year later, with the tariffs overturned and the duties refunded, those higher prices are still what's on the shelf.
What this means if you're buying in the UAE
The lawsuit itself is a US case, aimed at a US importer of record, and any eventual payout would go to US customers, not international buyers. That's the part worth paying attention to: UAE shoppers were exposed to the same global price increase in 2025, since regional pricing is built off Logitech's international list prices, but there's no equivalent path to a refund even if the US case succeeds. A tariff pass-through that was supposed to be temporary has effectively become the new baseline everywhere Logitech sells, UAE included.
